The Artist
My interest in hand built pottery began when doing archaeology fieldwork in Central America in 1984. To better understand how the Mesoamerican pottery was constructed, I took several pottery courses and began making my own designs. This led to craft shows, including the Lincoln Center Craft Show, Crafts on Columbus, and many others. To improve my skill and knowledge, I've also taken courses in tilemaking at Parsons School of Design in NYC. Many of my designs show a strong Southwestern influence which blends well with all types of decor. All pieces are individually signed. My studio is located in the scenic mountains of West Virginia's eastern panhandle. I'm currently working on an MA in Archaeology (course work completethe thesis might be completed when I reach retirement) and have two cats and two dogs for inspiration. |
