On-Line Catalog
Currently trivets, clocks, mirrors, and
coasters are listed. I will soon be adding pages for my seasonal
and miscellaneous items. Many of the tiles used in the mirrors
can also be used for backsplashes or as accents in a tiled wall.
If you have questions or would like additional information or
pictures of an item, please e-mail me. Please keep in mind that
colors and sizes are approximate. Due to the nature of handmade
items, no two pieces will be exactly alike.
Trivets (Click here)
All trivets are underglazed decorated and
fired twice. This means you can enjoy them everyday and the design
won't wear or fade. There is a layer of cork on the back to provide
an extra layer of insulation so they can safely be set on your
table. The designs are raised to give dimension to each piece.
Mirrors (Click here)
The mirrors are made from individual relief
tiles which are fastened to plywood backing with a mirror cut
to fit the center opening. The plywood backings are stained and
eye hooks with picture wire are attached so they can be hung
easily. All mirror tiles are fired at least two times and some
(Sun/Moon and Victorian) are fired a third time. The third firing
is an overglaze firing so the platinum and gold trim melts into
the glaze. Many of the tiles have a very deep relief giving a
scuptural effect.
Clocks (Click here)
Clock are made from one tile mounted on a
solid wood backing. A large hole is cut in the center of the
wood for the clock mechanism. This allows the clock to be hang
flat against a wall. A metal hanger bar is attached to the back
so the clock can be easily hung. The wood backs are decorated
in a variety of ways: sponge painting, rag rolling, glazed and
combed, and brush painting. The pictures are representative--your
clock may or may not have the same decoration on the wood backing.
If there is a particular color or style of decoration you would
prefer on your clock, be sure to indicate that on the order form.
The clocks use one AA battery which lasts approx one year. A
battery is included with your order.
Coasters (Click
here)
My coasters were designed when I realized that I could never
find one that would comfortably hold my large coffee cups. These
are made for the serious coffee/tea drinker and will, of course,
accomodate the regular size cup or glass. They have a rim to
hold spills and condensation and are glazed both top and bottom
so moisture can't soak through. One of my customers took care
of four gifts on her list by deciding to call them wine coasters.
The designs are stenciled on the bisqued coaster using stencils
I make, then they are glazed and fired. The decoration won't
wear off and can be cleaned using any household cleaner or, of
course, soap and water. I don't recomend the dishwasher because
of the cork backing--the cork doesn't do well in the water.
